Pure truth, In the private school attended,there were only two forms of discipline standing in the corner or the strap. The strap was introduced to me in grade five thru to grade twelve. It was mostly commonly used in grade's 5-9
If your teacher gave you the strap in class it was allways on your hands, but if you were sent to principals office, the only place he strapped was on your bare bottom. I remember it well and you didn't want it to happen very often. The stap was either brown or black leather about 16" long 3/4" thick 2" wide.
In class this one teacher allways kept it on his desk, and if you disobeyed him, you were told to stand up and hold out your hand. Usually 2 wacks each. If you were sent to the office, you had to sit and wait for the "man to arrive. Everyone knew why you were there. You would be brought before the principal and your knee's would shake as he looked up your record. There was allways a little talk about what you were going to get next. Then the order Well mister, turn around and face my desk, as he removed the strap from the drawer,remove your pants, no not enough your underpants too, and bend over the desk. He would then walk around the desk and stand beside you, he would place the strap across your bare bottom (taking aim) wind up and crack! After each strapping, you would have to say thank you brother. You usually received not less than 4-6 strapping accross your bare backside. Needless to say you didn't want to see him again soon! Bye
