With Josh in the tub I began to wash him. I dunked his head under water and washed his hair. Then I let him wash his face and arms, then his chest and stomach. I washed his legs then his back. I washed his genital area and then last I washed his buttocks.
I did not allow Josh much play time before plucking him from the tub. I laid him on the bathroom floor while I went to get towels. I returned and toweled him off paying particular attention to his groin and buttocks because Josh's sensation was not as good there and I did not want him to get a sore. Josh's disability gave him sketchy feeling below the waist. When I first got him I was convinced that a spanking would never work on him but one day I playfully patted him on the butt and it must have been too hard because he said, "ouch." From that day forward I have been spanking him just like any other kid.
When I was done drying him off I combed his hair and dried it with the hair dryer so he wouldn't catch a cold. I carried him to his room and sat him on his desk chair. "You want clothes?" I asked him. He declined and I got him his book bag so he could work on his homework while I gave Shawn his bath.
When I had Josh settled I went to Shawn's room knocking on the door, "Come in." Shawn said. I went in and he was playing with his handheld computer games. "Time for your bath Shawn." I told him. He only balked for a second until I gave him the look of warning. This was a look I could give to any of my children and they instantly knew what it meant.
Shawn had his tray on so I took it off and I then removed his belt. I took his shoes and socks off before taking him out of his chair and laying him on the floor. Once he was on the floor I did his leg exercises for a few minutes and then I took his shirt off. Then I took off his shorts. I looked down at his skinny little legs. They were so weak and frail. I had to be so careful with him. The slightest wrong move and he would be in the hospital for a week or more healing. I turned him over on his stomach and slid his underwear down and off of his buttocks. I looked for a minute or so at his small buttocks. Whenever I gave Shawn a whipping I had to be really careful to not to miss because if I did it could have the grave consequences I mentioned above.
I slid my right hand carefully under Shawn's legs and my left hand under his head and neck. I picked him up and when I was comfortable that I would not drop him I slid my right hand up from under his legs to under his buttocks and put him over my shoulder. My left hand still was there to support his fragile head and neck.
I walked into the bathroom and carefully laid Shawn on the floor while I ran his bath. When the tub was full I picked him up and put him in. I had to do everything for Shawn. I set to work on his hair first as I had with Josh and then moved to his face, arms, chest and stomach. I washed his legs and back and then his groin and buttocks. Shawn wasn't very interested in tub play as it was difficult for him so I pulled him from the tub and laid him on the floor while I got a towel. Why I didn't get the towels before putting the boys in the tub I'll never know. I came back and dried Shawn off and then took him to his room and put him back in his chair. I set him up with his homework too.
My next task for the day was to help David with his math and Cody with his spelling words. This was always a trying time because the boys struggled and I had to be firm with them to get them to stay on task. I always sat down at the kitchen table with both boys, one on each side and would wait for which ever child would need me first.
I had a rule that I would show them once and then they would do the work. If they made a mistake it was five strokes at the whipping ceremony. If they made a mistake I would show them their error and have them do it again to make sure they got it. If they again made a mistake it was ten additional strokes at the ceremony. This would go on until they got it right.
On this fateful day David called for me first. I looked at his work and said, "oh you are doing it all wrong David." Then I proceeded to show him. When I was through explaining it I said, "your turn David." He worked the problem completely and came up with a wrong answer. Before explaining where he had errored I said, "that's five strokes David." He nodded and then I showed him what he had done wrong. He did the problem again and this time he had it right.
Cody had to have help with five spelling words and he didn't get any of them right on the first try after an explanation but got all of them on a second try so he earned twenty five strokes in all.
After helping them I went to see how Josh and Shawn were doing. They both were doing well and I had to stop them to get them to take a break.
